Welcome to the Chaos of Politics!

We are living in a country filled with unrest, turmoil, and division. People are getting bulldozed with profanity, negativity, and hate while they try to stay polite when disagreeing. We are getting fiction shoved down our throats as if it were fact. As a result, so many of us have remained silent. We smiled because we had to. We nodded because we were told to. We laughed because we didn’t know what else to do. But, with that smile, nod, laugh, silence, we remained complicit.

Well, I am done being silent. There is too much at risk politically and socially. I am done being polite while getting personally attacked for my point of view. I am done being talked over, being mansplained, being cutoff. I am SO DONE with reading things that are just not true. There is a lack of information literacy that we, as a society, continue to enable through social media and the internet in general. I am an information professional, and I am disheartened by lack of credible sources being shared, by the lack of skepticism, and by the lack of doing the research. I am here to help fight the spread of misinformation. This is a political opinion blog, but I will always share my sources. I will provide you with tips and tricks to spotting misinformation. I will always listen to opposing opinions that are supported with reputable sources. I encourage contributing articles. I hope to create a community that starts to really look at the news critically to form their opinions. I will monitor comments on posts for hate. Some posts will be explicit and angry. Some will be full of hope and joy.

I created this blog to reclaim my voice and to hopefully give a platform for so many other voices. I hope to use my professional training and education to help people find some organization among the political chaos. I am the Poli-Archivist, and I have something to say.
